1. पाव पलक की सुध नहीं, मन मा से अति साज।

काल उभो से डोसकी, करले साजो काज।।

हिन्दी में भावार्थ ― उक्त दोहे में कवि मनुष्य की प्रकृत्ति का वर्णन करते हुए कहते हैं कि मनुष्य ने अपने जीवन में कई तरह की आशाएँ पाल रखी हैं और उसके मन में अति उत्साह है। अगले पल क्या होने वाला है इसका मनुष्य को भान नहीं है जबकि सिर के ऊपर तो काल मंडरा रहा है। इसलिए हे इंसान तू अच्छे कर्मों का ही निष्पादन कर।

अंग्रेजी में भावार्थ ― In the above couplet, the poet describes the nature of man and says that man has kept many kinds of hopes in his life and he has a lot of enthusiasm in his mind. Man is not aware of what is going to happen the next moment, while death is hovering over his head. Therefore, O man, you should perform only good deeds.

2. जोगी भोगी बेवड़ा, लोभी अति लबार।

पड़िन विषय को भोग मा, ज्ञानी गुनी अपार।।

हिन्दी में भावार्थ ― उक्त दोहे में कवि कहते हैं कि इस दुनिया में कई तरह के लोग देखने को मिलते हैं जैसे- योगी, सांसारिक जीवन में जीने वाले भोगी और शराबी। किंतु लोभी व्यक्ति अति लंपट होता है। ये सब विषय वासनाओं में लिप्त होते हैं जोकि ज्ञानी और गुणी लोगों का पार नहीं पा सकते।

अंग्रेजी में भावार्थ ― In the above couplet, the poet says that there are many types of people in this world like Yogis, worldly pleasure-seekers and drunkards. But a greedy person is extremely lustful. All these are involved in worldly desires which cannot be overcome by the wise and virtuous people.

3. अति बोलनो ठीक नहीं, राखो एतरो ध्यान।

अति बारिश नहि काम की, नहीं अती अभिमान।।

हिन्दी में भावार्थ ― उक्त दोहे में कवि कहते हैं कि मनुष्य के लिए ज्यादा बोलना ठीक नहीं होता है। जिस प्रकार अति वर्षा किसी काम की नहीं होती इस तरह अधिक बोलना भी किसी तरह उपयोगी नहीं होता। अतः ज्यादा न बोला जाय इस बात का हमें ध्यान रखना चाहिए। इसी तरह हमें किसी भी क्षेत्र में अति अभिमान भी नहीं करना चाहिए क्योंकि घमंड के घर खाली होते हैं।

अंग्रेजी में भावार्थ ― In the above couplet, the poet says that it is not good for a person to speak too much. Just as excess rain is of no use, speaking too much is also not useful in any way. Therefore, we should take care not to speak too much. Similarly, we should not be too proud in any field because the consquence of pride are empty.
